Breeze Bike Rides for Women

Bike rides are a breeze with British Cycling

Breeze bike ride

Cycling is all about the unbridled joy of butterflies in your tummy and the wind in your face as you freewheel down a hill. It's exciting and gives you a sense of freedom like nothing else. As interest in British women's cycling reaches heights undreamt of only five years ago, British Cycling are leading the way in getting more women on their bikes for fun.

British Cycling's Breeze programme is the biggest ever to get more women riding bikes for fun and helping thousands more women feel confident and comfortable about going on a ride.

Led by women, for women, Breeze bike rides are local, friendly and informal. Many of the rides take place on traffic-free routes and are ideal for busy mums and anyone who hasn't been on a bike for a while.

Rides usually start or end at a local café, where cake and friendly natter is always on the menu. Designed to suit all ages and abilities, they are the perfect excuse to get out into the great outdoors and explore Yorkshire on two wheels.

Lizzie Armitstead Breeze ambassador Great Britain cyclist and Olympic silver-medallist Lizzie Armitstead from Otley, West Yorkshire is proud to be a Breeze ambassador.

Lizzie said: ‘I'm encouraging as many women as possible to get on their bikes and go on a Breeze bike ride. Cycling is a big part of my life and I want as many women out there to experience the fun and social side of riding a bike.

‘It's not as scary as you think because Breeze is here to help you start your cycling journey. From advice on learning how to ride through to local bike rides, Breeze is fantastic and accessible!'

If you want to socialise, meet likeminded women and be active at the same time, Breeze is perfect for you. There are lots of Breeze bike rides taking place across Yorkshire this year. Find a ride near you.
